On Tues I went to Bolsa Chica and photographed a pair of Belted Kingfishers flying from branch to branch and fishing in the lagoon just south of the hill with the Palm Trees. They are extremely fast and do not light on a branch for more than a few seconds so you have to be ready. Nearby was a Reddish Egret also fishing in the mud flats and “dancing” around looking for food. The bridge near the Palm Trees with a large spillway pipe is a good spot to see Common Terns at eye level and only a few feet away.
